A long, long
time ago (OK not so long) in a land not too far away, a new Chapter of the
GWRRA was formed. Chapter A-2 of Ohio was
founded in 1987 in the City of Hamilton, OH.
A
little background: GWRRA designates it's chapter by letters of the alphabet.
The only chapter in southwestern Ohio was Chapter L in Cincinnati. The
letter "L" being the 12th in the alphabet and the chapter being the 12th in
the state. Having formed in 1985, it grew very rapidly to more than 300
members and even more newsletters being mailed each month.
Demographics showed many GWRRA members in the Hamilton area and the East
side of Cincinnati. With the numbers being a little hard to manage, 2 new
Chapters were born in 1987, branching off from Chapter L, forming A-2 in
Hamilton (the 27th in the state) and E-2 in the Eastside of Cincinnati, the
28th Chapter but opting to use "E" for the East side of town.
Tom
and Kathy Peck, natives to Hamilton were chosen to be Chapter Directors
(then called Area Reps) and things grew quickly into an active and fun
filled group of enthusiastic riders of GoldWings. A-2 celebrated it's first
Wing Ding (the Associations once a year national rally) in Snow Mass, CO in
1988, having a large percentage of the membership making the journey.
A-2
still conducts it's monthly meetings at the same place as that first night
in Oct. 1987. Come join us on the 4th Tuesday of each month at the Knights
of Columbus Hall on Hamilton-Cleves Rd. AKA ST. RT. 128.
All of us at Chapter A2 would like to thank everyone through the years past,
present and future for the Fellowships and Friendships made....
